Welcome to webGFX
How to use the Advanced Logo Generator?
This tool is a bit more complicated, but it allows you to choose and combine a lot of different options. This enables you to create a wide variety of logo styles. The first rule is: play with it! There are ten thousands of possible logos you can create.

These are the input parameters:

  • Text string:
Type in any text you like (max. 20 characters). Note that some fonts don't support all special characters, like @#& etc. See http://www.webgfx.ch/fonts.htm for a complete font list.
  • Font:
Choose one of the many fonts available.
  • Font Size:
This is the size of your logo in pixel. Note: the actual image might be larger, this is only the font size.
  • Pattern:
The pattern is an image that will be used to fill out the font and the outline, this is also known as texture-mapping. Choose <No Pattern> if you want to create a simple one-colored logo or use a gradient instead. See http://www.webgfx.ch/patterns.htm for complete pattern list.

  • Pattern Opacity:
This option allows you to set the transparency of the font and is based on the font color. It does not affect the outline.
    Example:

40% opacity / default font color:

80% opacity / default font color:

    40% opacity / font color:

  • Outline thickness
This value is the size (in pixel) of the border around your logo where the pattern opacitiy does not have any effect. It is created by enlarging the font by the value in outline thickness.
    Example:
Outline size 1 Outline size 6

  • Outline on/off
Off to turn off the font and only show the border.
    Example:
    Off On

  • Gradient
A gradient can be used instead of a pattern to fill the logo. There are some transparent gradients which you can combine with a pattern.

  • Shadow X
The x-position (horizontal) of the shadow.
  • Shadow Y
The y-position (vertical) of the shadow.
  • Shadow on/off
This option turns on/off the drop shadow feature.
  • Shadow opacity
A lower value results in a less visible shadow.
  • Shadow blur
This sets the blur-factor of the shadow. A high value blurs the shadow more.
Blur is 6 Blur is 16

  • Font color
This enables you create a simple one-colored logo. Choose one of the predefined colors or create your own, using the Color Picker, by clicking on "Set custom color". You can combine font color with gradients and patterns to set a kind of "color-filter" over the pattern or gradient.

  • Background color:
Choose one of the predefined background colors or create your own, using the Color Picker, by clicking on "Set custom color".
  • Shadow color:
    Same as above.
  • Output Format:
Choose whatever file format you need. If you chose JPEG, you can also change the quality (or compression factor) of the logo. If your logo looks jagged try using a higher jpeg-quality.

    JPEG  Quality 75% (2,9 KB)

    JPEG Quality 20% (1,4 KB)

  • transparent image:
Only available with GIF and PNG output format. A transparent logo will fit perfectly on your homepage with just any background image or color. JPEG does not support this feature.

Note: Netscape 2.x and 3.x do not support background color or images in tables.

When you're done adjusting the settings, press the "Start"-button  to create the logo. A window will open and usually within a few seconds you'll get the requested logo.
